It is difficult to do justice to the waste of time, people and resources hard-wired into the entire program by a quango mentality that was really ersatz, dishonest politics.JoeNhttp://joenutt.squarespace.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8888848804347928571.post-26477116444735734372011-02-07T08:24:25.315+00:002011-02-07T08:24:25.315+00:00It is regrettable that Labour has set itself again...It is regrettable that Labour has set itself against the Free School initiative which are essentially state Academies. <br /><br />We should be forcefully backing the expansion of focus on improved standards - and this is simply one element of what is needed.<br /><br />The grip of the dead hand of LAs needs to be loosened in order to create innovation and a greater focus on learning. We have allowed education to be dominated by "producer" needs rather than "consumer" needs. New Schools offer a means of breaking this wrong headed context for learning.<br /><br />Labour also needs to recognise that the processes and arrangements around BSF were burdensome and led to an industry of complex processes which distracted form core needs and objectives.<br /><br />Appreciated your blog.Terry Connollynoreply@blogger.com
