Cameron must sack Coulson

David Cameron was at his sanctimonious best a few weeks ago when he saw an opportunity to get rid of troublesome backwoodsmen over their duck islands and moats.
Politicians have done things that are unethical and wrong. I don’t care if they were within the rules – they were wrong......I want to establish the new principles that we will abide by. I’ve said that the thing we need more than anything else in this country, the idea that will be at the heart of everything a Conservative Government will do, is responsibility.
Now that it has become clear the extent to which outrageous and illegal bugging of celebrities and senior politicians like Tessa Jowell, John Prescott and Boris Johnson was carried out and planned while his communications chief, Andy Coulson, was deputy editor at the News of the World, surely there can be absolutely no ifs or buts about it. Coulson must go.

Otherwise, we must conclude that there was nothing more to Dave's recent righteous indignation than sham PR bluster.
