The right decision
Thank goodness for that. There are real lessons in what happened over the last month: Gordon should never have allowed his advisors to leave speculation on an election to run as long as it did. By doing so, it makes Gordon look weak after a summer of strength. But it is the right decision not to go to the polls now. Let's rule 2008 out while we're at it, and get on with running the country. It's not as if Gordon hasn't been aching to do so for some time.
